Parents stand before the congregation in a special evening dedication service to offer their child to the Lord and to dedicate themselves to rear the child for the glory of God. The church family prays for the family and commits to come alongside the parents through prayer, encouragement, and instruction. A dedication certificate and baby Bible are given to the family. A reception will follow each service. Call or email Cathy Lane at 281-446-8168 ext. 253 or firstname.lastname@example.org to be a part of a dedication service.
One day each Spring is set aside to celebrate our children. Usually on a Sunday, the morning is filled with lots of precious children and we celebrate them with special lessons and a gift during Bible Zone. Our Children’s Day culminates with an evening for the entire family. For more information, please contact the Children’s Ministry Office.
All children who will enter the 6th grade each fall are invited to JAM Graduation. A Bible is presented to them from the JAM Leadership by our Student Pastors. This Bible is our way of sending them to the student ministry with one last reminder of the importance the Bible and what it has to say about how to live their life. Parents are invited to attend and enjoy refreshments. Families are then invited to attend a luncheon hosted by the Student Ministry as an introduction to 6th grade. This annual event will take place in June.
Kindergarten Welcome Party:
All Children who enter Kindergarten in August are invited to attend a Welcome Kindergarten Party. A devotion, refreshments, and a new Bible are all part of the party. This is an opportunity for your child to meet their teacher and walk through their morning in Bible Zone and Big City Studio. Parents are invited too! This event takes place in August.
The Sunday before school starts each year marks our annual Promotion Sunday. Babies through 4th graders move to new classes and meet new teachers. Children receive promotion packets in the mail the week before this special Sunday.
Now That I’m a Christian Class:
When a child comes to know Christ as their Savior, it is certainly a special time. This class is held three times a year. Boys and girls learn about baptism, writing their own testimony, caring about others, the importance of reading their Bible each day, and so much more as they begin their spiritual journey. Our Children’s Director will meet with the parents during this time as well. Classes are scheduled on various dates throughout the year. Registration is required. Please contact the children’s ministry office for details or click on the Events tab above.
