The HuB's Orphan Care Ministry, Hands of Hope, exists to remind the church of James 1:27 which says, "Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world."  We are a community of families who've welcomed orphans through foster care, adoption, international orphan hosting, mission trips and more.  Others in the church provide support to our orphan care families through prayer or providing meals.

 Select Tuesdays  | 6:30-8 p.m. | Room 135

OCCG is a community of families involved in various aspects of orphan care; pre-adoptive, post-adoptive, and foster parents, to name a few.  We gather for training and support as we seek to be the hands and feet of Jesus to children from hard places.  Participants in need of training hours will get 1.5 hours per meeting through our partnership with the Orphan Care Network. We are currently studying "The Beauty and the Brokenness of Foster Care" by Jason Johnson.

The Care Closet is our church’s way of helping foster and adoptive families with items every child needs and deserves. Whenever these families welcome a new placement, from newborns to teens, we fill a Hands of Hope tote bag with the basics for each child: toiletries, a blanket, stuffed animal, diapers (when appropriate) and a personal note with a prayer from one of our HuB families.  We also include gift cards for the foster parents to help fill in the gaps.

Our Care closet is part of a network of foster and adoptive ministry closets in the Houston area that provide everything from diapers and cribs, to blankets and books.  We love helping families find what they need so that they are better equipped to meet the needs of these precious kids!
