My life is consisted of adventure, so much laughter and fun while constantly growing in my faith. So why wouldn’t I move three states away from my family to work at The HuB? I get to accomplish all of those things while serving on staff as the Girls’ Ministry Associate. I interned with the Student Ministry here at the church the summer of 2015 and accepted the job to move here from Missouri June of 2016. I truly enjoy living in the Humble and Kingwood community (Whataburger country), it has definitely become my home.
My prayer and hope for the 6th-12th grade girls in the student ministry is that when they leave the ministry in 12th grade, they will be strong women of The Lord, knowing who they are in Christ. We don’t start sharing hard truth in 12th grade right before they leave, no we start in Middle School constantly challenging the girls to chase after Christ. Our world is often telling females all kind of lies that we should look and act a certain way and it is right under their nose now with phones and social media. The only thing that I want these girls to learn is that through Christ they are enough, without Christ they are in for a harsh reality and going into college is going to be so difficult if they aren’t constantly pursuing Jesus and being drawn back into who He is. It starts with knowing who you are in Him and then building biblical community around you and having girl friends that are going to hold you accountable and push you towards Christ.
I love spending time with the girls any chance I get. Going to sporting events, rodeo events, dance recitals and plays are one of my favorite things to do because I get to see the girls on their turf and using their God given talents. On my own time I am an enthusiast on just about anything. I love going to concerts, plays, sporting events, festivals, farmers markets, you name it—I probably want to go. I graduated from Mississippi College with a degree in Communication and I like to tell people I have a degree in talking. I love to have conversation over a meal, coffee, dessert or just having game nights at my house. The HuB has provided me some great friends and a great chance to build community right where I’m at in life, I’m so thankful to be a part of this staff and this church.
