I am deeply convinced that meeting High School students, wherever they are in life, with the Gospel message is key to the future growth of the Church. My wife, Merianna, and I are passionate about creating relationships with the students first, and then helping them to understand how a relationship with Jesus works. Through God’s incredible grace and mercy, I want to show them how to rely on God daily. My ministry motto is found in Hebrews 12:1-2 “Therefore, since we have such large cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us lay aside every hindrance and the sin that so easily ensnares us. Let us run with endurance the race that lies before us, keeping our eyes on Jesus, the source and perfecter of our faith.”
I was able to see the Holy Spirit in my life through two avenues growing up: playing the drums and preaching. My testimony was most impacted by leading worship through playing the drums. I love the practicality of worshipping God for His love for me. A huge step in my spiritual walk was accepting the call to ministry in High School. I am passionate about student ministry because of how it has directly impacted my life.
My list of hobbies can be summed up in one word: Sports. I love playing basketball and tennis. I follow the NBA and college basketball very closely and watch the NFL as well. You will usually find my wife and I trying new restaurants in every city we go.
After being in youth ministry for 7 years, God called my wife and I to First Baptist Humble in October 2018. I am constantly amazed at how God is in control of my life, even when I fail to see it. We are excited and humbled by the opportunity to serve the high schoolers and their parents in the surrounding areas.
