Reaching up in Worship…to an Audience of One
Encouraging and victorious are two words that describe the atmosphere of worship here at HAFBC. Our worship teams strive to lead this congregation to respond to God in an outward way as they reflect on His goodness and His mercy. The quality of worship that we present to God is not defined in the music we sing or how innovative we try to be. Instead, it is defined by the attitude of our hearts and the obedience of our faith. We strive to have the same attitude that King David presented to God, in Psalm 51, when he came face-to-face with his sinfulness. David said, Create in me a pure heart, O God and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me . Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me… The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit and a contrite heart.
In a typical worship gathering at HAFBC, you can experience times of celebration, meditation, prayer, conviction, gratitude, biblical teaching and restoration. You will notice that our congregation will periodically use applause at the end of songs or for certain milestones in an individual’s life. Know that our applause is directed to our God in heaven as we recognize His work and His truth. He is our Audience of One! Our hope and prayer is that your experience with God on Sunday mornings will prepare you for the times you spend with God each and every day of the week.
