First Baptist Humble is a place where the members care for one another and for the people in the Humble area.  Here people are ready to listen, support, encourage, befriend, and pray for you.

THE PRAYER FOCUS is the church’s prayer sheet which is updated and printed weekly. The Prayer Focus provides our members with the submitted prayer requests.  A copy of the Prayer Focus is available at the receptionist desk.

Nobody likes to find themselves in a situation where they have to ask for help, but for many there comes a time when we must look to others for a hand up. Our benevolence ministry offers caring ministers who will listen and pray with you.

The first step is to call and make an appointment to meet with a minister who will meet with you to discuss the financial difficulties and appropriately assess and direct you to resources for help. Some common areas of need are expenses that directly affect the family’s ability to shelter in place: rent, utilities, and food.  These or other critical needs may be discussed and then determine what actions may be taken.

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God”  2 Corinthians 1:3-4.

If you have experienced the death of a loved one, our thoughts and prayers go out to you in this time of loss and grief. Your church family wants to be there for you to minister to your needs and seek to bring comfort to your heart. Humble Area’s First Baptist Church is available to counsel and minister to you and your loved ones during this difficult time

A minister will meet with the bereaving family by appointment to discuss planning resources and directing the family in planning the funeral service of a loved one.  If the family desires the use of the church for the service, it will be necessary for the bereaved family to contact the church to discuss availability and feasibility, schedule, direct and contact participants in the service, i.e. Officiating pastor, musicians, media staff needs, and use of facility.  To obtain additional information, contact the Pastoral Care office 281-446-8168, ext. 204.

Our Pastoral Care office keeps a daily log of those members in the area hospitals.  Our ministry staff and deacons, as well as trained volunteers are encouraged to visit those who are in the hospital when it is appropriate per the family’s request. Those with scheduled surgery and those currently in the hospital may be listed on the church’s prayer sheet, the Prayer Focus with the individual’s permission.
