ORPHAN CARE

The HuB's Orphan Care Ministry, Hands of Hope, exists to remind the church of James 1:27 which says, "Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world."  We are a community of families who've welcomed orphans through foster care, adoption, international orphan hosting, mission trips and more.  Others in the church provide support to our orphan care families through prayer or providing meals.

OCCG SUPPER & FELLOWSHIP

If you LOVE orphan care, join us at Thomas & Amy Hood's (address above) home for supper & fellowship! Dinner & salad provided as well as beverages and popsicles.  We will eat at 6 p.m. followed by orphan care discussion. If you have any questions, email David Humphrey or Denise Sepulveda.


OCCG MEETINGS @ THE HUB

6:30-8 p.m. | Room 1205/1207

OCCG is a community of families involved in various aspects of orphan care; pre-adoptive, post-adoptive, and foster parents, to name a few.  We gather for training and support as we seek to be the hands and feet of Jesus to children from hard places.  Participants in need of training hours will get 1.5 hours per meeting through our partnership with the Orphan Care Network. OCCG meets every other Tuesday.  Check out our dates below.  If you need childcare, please register below.



We are currently studying "The Beauty and the Brokenness of Foster Care" by Jason Johnson.

HANDS OF HOPE SCHOOL SUPPLY DRIVE

July 30-Aug. 15

Join us as we help local foster families from the HuB and our 77338 zip code to get ready for the new school year with much needed supplies. Stop by the Mission Wall to select a need your family can fulfill, and return it Sunday, Aug. 6.  Distribution will be Aug. 15 at the HuB playground from 6:30-8 p.m.


ORPHAN SUNDAY

On Orphan Sunday, Christians stand for the orphan. We are a people called to defend the fatherless…to care for the child who has no family…to visit orphans in their distress. Here at the HuB every believer can find a place ot serve the orphan through supporting families, foster care, international orphan hosting and more.
