ORPHAN CARE

The HuB's Orphan Care Ministry, Hands of Hope, exists to remind the church of James 1:27 which says, "Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world."  We are a community of families who've welcomed orphans through foster care, adoption, international orphan hosting, mission trips and more.  Others in the church provide support to our orphan care families through prayer or providing meals.

ORPHAN CARE COMMUNITY GROUP (OCCG)

OCCG MEETINGS

 Select Tuesdays beginning Jan. 16 | 6:30-8 p.m. | Room 135

OCCG is a community of families involved in various aspects of orphan care; pre-adoptive, post-adoptive, and foster parents, to name a few.  We gather for training and support as we seek to be the hands and feet of Jesus to children from hard places.  Participants in need of training hours will get 1.5 hours per meeting through our partnership with the Orphan Care Network. We are currently studying "The Beauty and the Brokenness of Foster Care" by Jason Johnson.

Arrow Foster Parent Training @ the HuB

See dates below | Room 1221

Foster care is not about increasing the size of a family, or even doing a good deed. It’s about helping a child desperately needing love and direction. This requires a family determined to do what it takes to help a hurting child heal. It can be tough at times, but it’s always rewarding. Arrow Child and Family Ministries will offer their basic training @ the HuB this year in an intensive two week format with childcare provided.  For more info on the training contact Jenna.Cazares@arrow.org
