FAMILY LIFE

 MARRIED LIFE

Married life takes effort.  He needs respect.  She needs affection.  Every marriage is made up of two broken people in need of grace and mercy.  Our Married Life Team exists to strengthen families by equipping husbands and wives with the skills to effectively live in godly relationships.  Our ministry is focused on discipleship, providing marriage enrichment Bible studies, conferences and retreats as well as date nights where couples can reconnect.

PARENT LIFE

Proverbs 22:6 says, “Train up a child in the way he should go, even when he is old he will not depart from it.” That’s easier said than done because parenting is a tough job.  It’s easy to become overwhelmed with the responsibilities and challenges of parenthood.  You are not alone, and we want to help you fulfill God’s plan for you as the primary disciple-maker of your kids through Fall and Spring discipleship classes, and special events.

FAMILY MISSIONS

Families grow closer to Christ and to each other as they serve together. Our church provides various ways for families to serve in missions together including local mission projects like Angel Tree and Love Your Neighbor Week, as well as family mission trips across the country and around the world.

ORPHAN CARE

Hands of Hope

HAFBC's Orphan Care Ministry, Hands of Hope, exists to remind the church of James 1:27 which says, "Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world."  We are a community of families who've welcomed orphans through foster care, adoption, international orphan hosting, mission trips and more.  Others in the church provide support to our orphan care families through prayer or providing meals.

Orphan Care Community Group

OCCG is a community of families involved in various aspects of orphan care; pre-adoptive, post-adoptive, and foster parents, to name a few.  We gather for training and support as we seek to be the hands and feet of Jesus to children from hard places.  Participants in need of training hours will get 1.5 hours per meeting through our partnership with the Orphan Care Network.

OCCG meets every other Tuesday from 6:30-8 p.m. in Room 1205/1207 (see dates below).  Childcare is available by contacting aknutson@hafbc.com.
